Manuel Rodrigues

The name deepRED.tv is inspired by the band Deep Purple and the first artificial intelligence chess computer that beat a human, Deep Blue. deepRED.tv discribes a visual and emotional world. The name tries to capture the deep emotional connection people have with music.

Manuel Rodrigues has a cinematographic background. He studied graphic design for interactive applications at the Media College, as well as Visual Effects and Interactive Media at the Netherlands Film Academy. During his studies at the Film Academy, Manuel worked as a light technician and started delving into the world of music lighting. This is when he fell in love with the creative process of translating music into visual language. He is a visual instrumentalist.

 
His vocabulary consists of rythmics, cadence, dynamics, atmosphere, movement, time and space. Within precisely these rudimentary elements, Manuel seeks out connections between the auditory and visual world. He goes to work like a choreographer. Visual elements are treated and manipulated like dancers, creating a new medium/narrative in which images and sound are inextricably connected.
